Hello friends,

If you have been to our website recently, you may have noticed a lack of touring dates on our schedule. There is a bitter-sweet reason for this. We, as Article One, have decided that we will no longer be touring. This was a decision we came to as a band, and it was completely amicable. There were a number of factors that came into consideration — the rigors of road life, being away from loved ones, and changes in the industry — which played a large part in our decision. While we don’t want to rule out the possibility of playing together again in the future, we will be focusing on new projects and careers away from the music industry.

We want to sincerely thank everyone who supported us over the years. We’ve met so many amazing people from all over the world, and we are grateful for and humbled by all the generosity and hospitality that we experienced. To everyone who opened up their homes to us, cooked a meal for us, or helped us get our van back on the road, or supported us in other ways, thank you. We truly could not have done it without you.

A special thank you to our fans. It has been our pleasure performing and leading worship for you, and we hope that our music has been an inspiration to you. We want to thank you all so much for coming out to the shows and supporting us! We love you all.

We also want to thank our past band-mates: Nolan Verner, Marty Lewis and Mark Laidman. It was a pleasure traveling around with you guys.

Lastly, but most importantly, we want to thank the Lord for His faithfulness. He kept us safe on the road for 7 years, blessed us with amazing friendships, and gave us the opportunity to see so much of the world. All the glory goes to Him.

We had an absolutely amazing time in Australia last month.  Thanks to all the wonderful people who made it so great!  It was definitely a trip of a life time.

Hey everyone!

There’s a ton of things going on with Article One this month! Here’s the list!

First of all, the “This Is Our Life” Tour is starting on Wednesday and will be hitting eight cities across Ontario! Each night will feature a full Article One set, a message from Dave Lane, a worship set from NINEOFIVE, a presentation from Compassion, and pre/post show music from DJ Chris Harrington. We hope to see you at the following shows:

Secondly, “Move Me” has just been released to radio and is the first Canadian single off our new record “Clarity”. Please call and email your local Christian radio station to request this song!

Thirdly, we will be announcing an official Australia and American release date for “Clarity” soon! Stay tuned as we release the album to our fans outside of Canada!

Lastly, on October 28th, Fox Sports featured “Dream October” in their coverage of Game Two of the Major League Baseball World Series Championships. It was very surreal to hear our song in the middle of the game!

We have one final announcement to make as we get closer to the “This Is Our Life Tour”. Each night we will be hearing a special presentation about the work of Compassion. For many years now, all of us involved in the tour (from Dave Lane to Article One) have been partnering with Compassion to change the lives of children affected by poverty all around the world. We are excited to share with you about their work, and even now, encourage you to consider joining us. “This Is Our Life” and we have the opportunity to make a difference in this world!

It’s been over two years since Article One released a full-length studio album. Today, after a year of work, we are pleased to announce that Article One’s third album “Clarity” will be released in Canada on Oct 19th to iTunes and Christian retail. More than a collection of 10 new songs, the record will also feature 8 instrumental tracks that effectively tie the album together into a cohesive and artistic masterpiece.

After doing nearly 250 shows since the release of their last album “Colors and Sounds”, Article One felt called to write an album that ministered to the church. Forgoing conventional songwriting formulas, they set out to write songs that would change hearts and ask listeners to actively engage their faith in their church and in their community.

Enlisting the help of Nashville producer Chris Brush, Article One returned to Canada to record the album. They took over an empty house and filled it to the brim with gear to record their performances and capture the vibe. There is a real sense that God’s hand has been on this project.

On a note to fans, Nathan says, “It is our hope and prayer that somehow, this record will speak to you and encourage you to find a greater sense of purpose in your own life”. We truly hope that this record points you to Jesus. We believe that there is no greater purpose than living for Him.

Over the past year, we’ve gathered together as a band, to pray and talk about the ministry of Article One. Where is our heart? How do we serve the Kingdom as effectively as possible through our music, shows and tours?

When I look back on my life, I know for certain that I wouldn’t be here if it wasn’t for many older musicians who hung out with me, played in bands with me, and talked about life and music! The personal interaction with those guys meant way more, and had a much greater influence, than any CD or concert. So with a desire to serve the Church to the best of our abilities, and with our upcoming “This Is Our Life Tour”, we would like to announce “Sound Check” with Article One.

If you’re a musician at your church and if you’ve ever had any questions about our music, what gear we use, how we rehearse, what it’s like to go on tour, etc, we would love to hang out with you and answer as many questions as possible. At 6:15PM each night, right before doors open, we will be giving a free tour of the stage and having a Q+A with the band for any interested musician. We firmly believe that musicians have a unique ability to bless the Kingdom with their gifts, and we would love to encourage you in any way we can.

Everyone who comes to the “This Is Our Life Tour” will be treated to an original mix of pre-show and post-show music created by DJ Chris Harrington. Chris is an up-and-coming DJ from Vancouver that we met at “Pitch and Praise” earlier this spring. We were impressed with his talent and are honored to feature his mixes at our concerts.
